The following is a video transcript.

Hi everybody. It’s now Friday, March 20 and I wanted to check in with you.

I know I just made an announcement on Monday of this week about what was going on here at U.S. LawShield. There’s certainly been some updates as we’ve continued to receive instruction and direction and some additional restrictions that are coming from the White House, from state governments, from local governments, on additional things that we need to do to help protect the health and safety of Americans everywhere, but importantly ourselves and our family. So, I wanted to just check in with here.

And I also wanted to make sure that I reemphasize the most important thing I said on Monday, which is this:

For all of our members everywhere, rest assured knowing that we’ve got your back, your coverage and your protection is 100% in full force and effect. Our member services agents are reporting that they’re receiving this question more than any other right now, as folks are worried, “Hey, am I still protected? Are you still going to be there for me?” And the answer is yes.

In fact if anything you may need us now more than ever. Sadly we’re seeing reports of incidents taking place all over the country, because some tempers are getting a little short in places. We’re certainly seeing record lines at grocery stores and other areas where folks are trying to get valuable resources as they prepare to deal with restrictions that are being put in place.

I would say a couple of things in response to this. One for all of our members, I hope that you will maintain a level and a cool head and everything that happens, no matter what. The best thing that you can do is continue to act responsibly and admirably, as you always do. But also at the same time rest assured knowing that if something happens and you are forced to defend yourself, defend a member of your family or another person, or even defend your property where it’s legal, rest assured we’ve got your back. Your coverage is still fully in force and in effect, and you always have access to an Independent Program Attorney through our 24/7 Attorney-Answered Emergency Hotline.

On that note, it’s important that I also say this, and our member services and our attorneys have all agreed that this is an important thing to remind folks. Please call the emergency hotline only for emergencies, if you’ve been involved in an incident. Don’t call for member servicing questions or issues about your account. It’s answered by an attorney, and they’re not going to be able to help you with that. You want to call our member services center. Our agents, as I mentioned on Monday, are now working at home, but they are all fully up and running. That number is 877-448-6839. You can also find that number on the back of your membership card. If you have questions about your account and your coverages, you’re welcome to always look on your member portal as well. That’s found at uslawshield.com.

Now again, as I mentioned on Monday, most of our folks are now working at home, and in fact today here in our headquarters, there’s fewer than 10 of us in the office right now. We’ve made some additional adjustments in how we operate the business to make sure that we’re able to meet everyone’s needs. One of those is the operating hours for our membership services department. We’ve reduced that back. It’s now open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and it’s 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. But rest assured, even though you may experience a little higher wait time to get through, our agents are all up and running. We’re experiencing a high number of calls right now as folks are concerned.

If you have questions about what’s legal in your state and you need to speak with an Independent Program Attorney, you can still do that. Give us a call on the business line, 877-448-6839. Ask to speak with an Independent Program Attorney, and we’ll get you connected with them as soon as we are available to do so.

In the meantime, thank you so much for being part of our family. We truly value you. We value, importantly, all of our rights. I’m sure we’re going to get through this. I’m sure we’re all going to be changed by this as well. And that’s okay. Change can bring about some good things for us as well, as we learned to do and live in different ways. But in the meanwhile, and until next time, stay safe. Stay healthy. Practice healthy habits and follow the guidelines that have been issued for each of us so that we can each protect ourselves and our families. God bless you and take care.
