Our Condolences to Vegas Families

Law Shield sends condolences to the families of Las Vegas Metro Police Officers Alyn Beck, 41, and Igor Soldo, 31, who were killed by gunmen Jerad and Amanda Miller. The pair murdered the two officers at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the CiCi’s Pizza at 309 N. Nellis Boulevard in Las Vegas, according to news reports.

We would also like to point out a heroic, but fatal, attempted intervention in the killings.

After shooting the officers and taking their firearms and ammunition, the Millers made their way across Stewart Avenue to the Wal-Mart at 201 N. Nellis.

Joseph Wilcox, 31, was legally carrying his own concealed handgun and attempted to stop the Millers from killing anyone in the Wal-Mart. According to news reports, Amanda Miller shot Wilcox from behind as Wilcox confronted Jerad Miller.

“To the family of Joseph Wilcox, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department sends our deepest condolences. He died trying to protect others. His death is completely senseless,” Sheriff Doug Gillespie said during a Monday news conference.
