Michigan Man Carries Rifle to Walk Daughter to Bus

Law Shield notes that a Muskegon Heights, Mich., man has decided to carry a rifle to and from the bus stop to protect his daughter.

WZZM-TV reports that Michael LaMay says his actions are in response to recent violence in the city.

Muskegon County Prosecutor DJ Hilson says he is aware of the situation, and although he doesn’t advocate it, LaMay is not breaking any laws because Michigan is an open-carry state.
