One important thing I wanted to talk to you guys about today is, if you do have to display your firearm to a threat, what you immediately need to do afterwards. So, I thought it would be helpful if we spoke to our Independent Program Attorney to get some insight on this.

If you had to display or otherwise use your firearm, the first thing you should do is call 911. Keep it short. Tell them that you’ve been a victim of a crime. Then give them your name, your location, and ask for the services that you need. Hang up.
They’re going to call you back and they’re going to want to keep you on the phone, but it’s very important that you get off the phone and make an immediate phone call to the U.S. Law Shield emergency hotline to be connected directly to my partner or I. We will advise you on what you should or should not say and, if necessary, dispatch a lawyer to your location.
Sherry Hale, Member Ambassador: As an example, I recently was speaking to Santiago, one of our members, and he was involved in a road rage incident where he had to display his firearm. Santiago did the correct thing. He called 911 first and then U.S. Law Shield’s hotline.
