Texas Law Shield members are telling us about more and more customization of their firearms. Now some cosmetic upgrades to two Kahr models are coming directly from the manufacturer.
Kahr Firearms Group has partnered with Cabela’s to offer custom designs for two of Kahr’s best-selling pistols — the Auto-Ordnance 1911 and the Kahr PM9.
The first new custom design is a black-and-orange Auto Ordnance 1911, with an orange frame and black slide accented with black appointments. Both the frame and slide on the Auto-Ordnance 1911 are machined from high carbon 4140 steel. The frame has been treated with a high-temperature ceramic Cerakote coating.
This .45 ACP pistol has a 5-inch barrel, 8.5-inch overall length and weighs 39 oz. It has front and rear dovetail cut/low-profile iron sights and a checkered black-rubber grip held in place by hex grip screws. It is shipped with two 7 round magazine. The model number is 1911PKZCABHO and MSRP is $759.
The second custom offering exclusively sold through Cabela’s is a Kahr PM9 with a Robin Eggshell Blue polymer frame. The frame and finger rest extension of one 6-round magazine on this PM9 have been treated with a Cerakote ceramic coating, ensuring that it will retain its color under normal wear.
The slide is machined from a solid billet of 420 stainless steel and has a matte finish. The PM9 features a 3-inch polygonal rifled barrel and has an overall length of 5.3 inches, 4.0 inches in height, and weighs just 14 oz. with an empty magazine. The Robin Eggshell Blue PM9 has drift-adjustable white-bar-dot combat sights and the gun is shipped with three magazines (one finger rest 6-round, one 6-round with a flush baseplate, and one 7-round with an extended grip.
Included in the custom package is a black pistol rug and a pocket holster. The model number is PM9093CABBL and MSRP is $899 for the entire package.
Both pistols are sold exclusively through Cabela’s while supplies last.
