In Alabama, Register of Pistol Purchases Eliminated

Law Shield notes that Alabama firearm owners can now celebrate a victory won back in June of this year.

On September 1, Alabama HB 47 went into effect. HB 47 does quite a few good things for the state’s handgun owners:

— eliminates Alabama’s pistol registration;

— allows the use of a handgun with parental permission for those younger than 18;

— eliminates a ban on carrying a gun at hospitals; and

— gives the opportunity for those previously banned from possessing firearms the right to restoration.

Also, all previous records of pistol registrations will be destroyed under the new law.

Law Shield is always encouraged when states enact pro-gun and freedom-expanding legislation.
