Our Texas Law Shield NFA members have a lot of exotic firearms and accessories they like to shoot, but it’s rare to find one with as much utility as AWC Silencer’s Ultra 13TD K10/22TD.
The $1560 product is an integrally suppressed Ruger 10/22 TakeDown. Its removable suppressor core offers the same suppression performance of the earlier generations and adds the ability for customer maintenance that extends the lifespan of the suppressor.
According to AWC, various agencies have used the Ultra 13TD to knock out street lights and nuisance animals. For our members who like to dabble in NFA products, it’s suitable for plinking, target shooting, and varmint hunting, and it breaks down to a very pack-able size.
Manufactured from 300-hundred series stainless steel, the Ultra suppressor is designed to be used with both standard and high velocity 22 LR ammunition. The rifle comes function-tested for accuracy and reliability with 36-grain Remington Gold High Velocity ammunition. AWC warns against using hyper-velocity cartridges such as the CCI Stinger or Remington Yellow Jacket cartridges.
If you already own a suitable suppressor in your Law Shield trust, the Ruger Takedown rifle alone also comes in a threaded-barrel model (No. 11112) with a 16.62-inch barrel and flash suppressor for $419. When broken down, the receiver and stock measure just over 20.1 inches in length.
