Florida Man Brings Paintball Gun to a Gun Fight

On Saturday morning, September 17, 2016, a road-rage incident on a Florida highway escalated into gunfire and ended with three people being arrested.

The incident started when Erick Salazar reportedly became angry with another driver for cutting him off, so he reached for his paintball gun and fired several shots at the truck, then sped off.

About ten minutes later, the truck caught up with Salazar’s vehicle. At that point, the men inside the truck, Theodore Sterling and Justin Lizotte, decided to shoot back.

Sterling pulled out a real gun and fired at Salazar. Then Lizotte took a turn shooting at Salazar’s car. One bullet struck the car in which Salazar’s 9-year-old son was a passenger.

Sterling is claiming self-defense. He might have a little problem with that defense since he chased the other driver down for ten minutes before shooting at him.

No one was hurt in the incident but all three men were arrested on various charges and are being held in the Seminole County Jail as of the writing of this story.
