The National Shooting Sports Foundation has been awarded a $2.4 million grant from the Department of Justice for the NSSF’s “Project SafeChild” program. The program would disseminate free gun locks and provide firearms safety education messaging to communities across the country.
One would think “who could possibly oppose protecting our children by ensuring guns are stored safely and helping reduce firearms accidents through safety education?”
Well, oddly enough, the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence has petitioned the Department of Justice to cancel the grant to the NSSF. Their twisted logic is that because the NSSF has a history of opposing stricter gun control legislation to prevent future tragedies, they do not deserve to be given money to prevent future tragedies. Huh????
How do you deal with that kind of thinking?
