Law Shield would like to let our members know that Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (D-Connecticut) who represents Newtown, Connecticut recently introduced a bill called the Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act “to prohibit the transfer or possession of large capacity ammunition feeding devices, and for other purposes.”
The act defines “large capacity” as any magazine holding more than 10 rounds. Unlike past bans, the “Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device Act” does not include a grandfather clause.
The bill is sponsored by Senator Bob Menendez (D-New Jersey) and has more than 100 co-sponsors, more sign-ons than any magazine restriction or “assault weapon” ban law in the past.
In the video below, Esty says, “We are not giving up… We are not going away.” Well, neither are we. Law Shield and our members will oppose wrongheaded legislation wherever we find it.
